The Agape P.O.P. Garden was established in the spring of 2015 when Founding Director Elizabeth Dry and Pastor Martha Valencia saw the potential to build a place where community members could gather and connect the past to a new and thriving future.
Elizabeth’s mother, Genevieve Olsson, attended the Memorial United Methodist Church, which is now called the Agape United Methodist Church, for over 60 years. It is an honor to be part of the revitalization of a neighborhood where she grew up!
Today, celebrity chefs who believe in the farm-to-table movement and community members grow chemical-free and nutrient-dense food for their restaurants and families. Promise of Peace provides free seed-to-table programming for children in Agape UMC’s Not Home Alone after school program. A portion of this garden is also used to grow beautiful produce for two food pantries in Dallas.
